Motorcycle Luggage

I'm planning on a 6-day motorcycle trip out West. For your long trips, what luggage do you use? I'm taking a nekked ninja 650, and all I have are Justine's Joe Rocket saddle bags. So, I'm looking for a good tank and tail bag.

Post some pics of you traveling too!

If it's just gonna be a one time thing, you might just grab a small plastic tote from walmart and secure it with a bungee net.
At least it'll be cheap and rain proof.

I'm sure you know this already, but don't forget to crank up the preload on that rear spring if your gonna be carrying alot of weight.

You got both pieces Martin?

Where did you order yours from and how much? I have been looking at getting some for quite a while now.

I think I bought them locally. At british usa. I want to say around 120ish for the entire setup....this was a couple of years ago so I really don't remember but google could probably help you out.

goddam! best i have seen, at least online, was $150 for the saddle bags and the tail bag together used on ebay, they seem to hold their value on the used market pretty well. Retail is over $200 for the set.

As far as street gear cortech makes great stuff for the price. I've had several gloves from the(gauntlet and shorty) and have yet to be able to say one negative things about them. Seems to be the same stuff as the BMW gear(which is the shiznit)but at about half the price.

I have a set of Silverstreak bags similar to that and a tail bag coming. That and a two piece tank bag is plenty.

Don't forget a basic tool kit, and tire patch kit, inflator of some kind, small can of chain lube, some elect tape and tie wraps, aspirin and Alieve.. just to name a few off the top of the head! And monkeybutt powder...

All I can find is from a couple years back before the saddle bags...

Here is what the saddlebags and tail bag look like... I like these because there are 4 quick release buckles and the entire thing is off the bike.

Something else I have found/learned is zip lock bags. Find some large enough to fit your clothes in, roll up as flat as you can to squeeze the air out, and zip. Stuff takes up a lot less space and it is waterproof as well. And after a few days and you have dirty sweaty clothes it keeps the odors away...

I used to have a 2 man pup tent that rolled up super small. Alum poles and all. If you can find KOA camp grounds they always have clean showers...

Small air matress keeps the ground softer as well.
