Question PayPal required for Charity Threads

Can we make a new rule where PayPal is required from threadstarter for charity threads? It's frustrating to see MH wanting to donate but having no means to do so until Page 6 or weeks later...and not picking on anyone in particular - I've seen this many times on here.

We have a good community here with good people that want to help.

Thoughts/comments?

well what if it doesn't apply?

usually we want to know what the problem is (e.g. fire, theft, sickness) before we can address specific needs and then more discussion on how MH can best assist - hence the 6 pages...

so should we require it?

I vote no...

It's a good idea. However we would need a separate account for every person who the donations are meant for. Which is why it is left to someone closer to who every the proceeds are meant to help.

not everyone has a paypal. besides, its a good idea to see how and what people want to donate, which is the reason for the thread.

I vote yes for a donation thread but............whoever makes the thread needs to have a paypal account and will be the one handling the account once it's done. They should only keep the thread open for a week. (well, I guess depending on the situation).

if its not a web based donation( like a bbq), then no, if it is then someone should be willing to set up a paypal or use their account for the cause
