I've also heard "Fizzy"

I'm not sure I understand what the fuss is about though - so people use 'crotch rocket' wrongly (?) is it a negative term? I mean it's kind of a 'fun' kind of reference in a way.... it does sort of exist in your crotch - and you ride it as if you were on a rocket...

kind of like saying 'tuner' for anyone with a small Acura or Mitsubishi with bling and rims....

here we all are reveling in 'track days' and HP and all, and then don't like the reference to 'rockets'? - my license plate says it!

I've tried to correct people that my FZ1 is not really a 'racing bike', (I think a crotch rocket is a high-powered, racing-designed layout - low-tight h-bars and rearsets....) but what the heck - it is the same mostly as an R1.....

I think people like to use the word - it's exciting and dangerous and most people are afraid! Bwahahahaha

I only heard that term for a year or two around here back in the late 80's.

I've heard "Go fast bikes" before also. And I heard a Harley guy call them "Fun bikes".
