Mexico on a Husky 610

I love advrider for it's mexico travel stories. Check out the adventure this kid is having on his Husky 610 as he travels from the US to Panama over a three month period. Keep in mind, that at 47 pages of posts, he is roughly 1/3 the way through his trip. Luke Swab is living the good life!!

His BMX vids are sweet.

His pictures better.

His humor and goodwill genuine

His telling a story in a way we can all relate to inspiring. Makes me want to just go ride somewhere.

Yep, I'm shadman over there.

I got turned onto the site from TWTexans. Some of those ride reports are incredible. One I remember well was two south africans who rode through angola and a bunch of other sub saharan african countries. THOSE guys were hardcore. Mexico is a cake walk in comparison.

As far as when are we going, probably late summer before the rainy season, but just to the northern mountains, south of Monterrey. That's why I bought the XR, which I'm gonna freshen the motor on soon!!:

I love those write-ups. I read that forum all the time at work. I want my motard to experience the dual-sport world, but it has a teeny tank for any adventure. I'm itching to go on a Mexico trip, continental divide trip, or any adventure ride!

I got an XR, you got a DRZ, my buddy Darin is about to get his KLR650.

I am "planning" a 3 day weekend to try it out.

I think your bike would be fine for northern mexico. As long as you have a 100 mile range you would do just fine if you stuck to the well known routes. Plus, a 1 gallon supplemental tank would take you another 100 miles.

FWIW, if I owned your bike I might already be in Mexico right now.

I have been at that same park on the side of the road where the carving fell of the cliff face and they are putting it back together.

El Salto (close to Zaragoza) is a great place to camp and swim if you go that far.

Nice pics, that area of Mexico is beautiful.
