Unhappy My dog got owned...graphic pics

I was still at school when this happened around 6:15pm. This is the usual time my dad gets home from work to walk our dog, Mookie. Right when he walked out from the back onto our driveway, a big dalmation came up and bit my Shihtzu on the back.

My dad kicked and wrestled with the dog to get our lil dog from the dalmation's mouth. It released, but charged again and picked my dog up again like a ragg doll and swung around. Finally, my dad freed Mookie again and my mom ran out the house during that time to see what happened. My dad handed over Mookie to my mom and told her to run inside the house. The dalmation chased my mom with Mookie to the door, so she struggled to close the door. It still wanted some more.

My dad calls 911 and waits outside, while the dalmation is still hiding next door in a bush waiting to attack again.

So the neighbor two house down comes home and the dog disappear. My dad rang their doorbell and asked if they owned a black and white dog and they said yes. Told them the incident and said we already called the cops.

The cop and animal control came, check for wounds, there was, so they had the right to take away the neighbors dog for testing, if found not insane or whatever after 10 days they can have their dog back. Neighbor offers to pay for hospital bill, but this came from the police's mouth. We will call them tomorrow.

So we rushed him to the emergency animal hospital once I got home, since he only trusted me, special bond thing.

All in all, I see 8 deep punctures and minor scratches, got x-rayed and doc said he should heal up ok, no broken bone etc. Heavily medicated right now.

chocolate dont really kill dogs...maybe some?
I knew a friend who fed her dog chocolate, gum, candy, junk food. It lived a normal life, maybe short, but not instant death or anything.

yeah my dad thought about killing the dog, then thought of legal reasons not too.

WRONG! Some dalmatians are bad. I don't think it's good to make such a generalization. I had had four of them and none of them would have attacked a dog like that. Cats on the other hand... well, lets just say the two which entered our backyard used up all nine live at once, apparently. There's a pit bull and a basset which would crawl under our fence from the house behind us and our dals looked forward to it. They had a lot of fun with them.

Currently, we have two dalmatians and about the worse they will do is pee on you.

i heard dalmations are some high strung dogs to begin with. not sure of any truth to this though. but then again we all know what they say about pits, and i have two and they are both fine with dogs/cats and love babies. to an extent i think it comes back to the owners, but some dogs are aggressive regardless of how they are raised.

dont know if id kill it though, you are the first people they would look at

Yes, they can be high-strung but that just means hyper, not dangerous. You're right in that it has a lot to do with the owners.

i had a full blooded female dalmation when i was younger... she was the most hyper active dog ever.... she actually would jump over the fence a 6ft wooden fence and come pat at the front door... when we would open she would engage in a game of catch me if you can... lol crazy dogs.... glad to hear your dog is ok...
