f4i fi light WTF???

i just finished changing the oil. new filter and repsol moto oil

FI light is blinking.

i let the bike warm up for 5 min, then turned it off, waited 2 min, emptied out old oil, removed oil filter, moved bike side it side draining all the oil, it took about 5 min. put on new oil filter , added new oil.

start up bike, oil light blinks, then idle jumps to 2.5k- 3k and FI light blinks, 30- 60 sec later idle drops to 1.5, when twist throttle it jumps back to 2.5k, FI light still is blinking, oil light is blinking too. WTF???

whats wrong??

are the sensors messed up? , what do i need to check?
check air sensor?
check spark plugs?
the fuel pump works, i hear it turn on
is it old gas in the tank? bike was sitting in garage for 6 months, should i drain it or let it run thru?
could it be the fuel injectors?
air filter?
wtf?

anyone have any ideas why this is happening???

I would def. clean out the gas tank if it has been sitting there for that long and run some cleaner through it.

have you checked to see what codes the FI light is on for yet?
there should be an empty 2 pin connector under the seat next to the ecu and if i recall correctly you can jumper that then turn the bike on and count flashes. that should put it in diagnostic mode though double check your service manual (if you do not have one then get one or take the bike to someone who does). once in dag mode count short flashes as 1 and long flashes as 10. there is a pause between flashes for each code indicated. for example one long flash is 10, a long flash followed immediately by 2 short flashes is 12.
having the FI light makes it pretty easy to diag problems since it will often tell you exactly what to look at.

needs to be in diagnostic mode for it to be flashes that mean anything.
