running the toll gets you locked up ?!?!

I dont write much on here but I thought i would share this one,

Cut the story short, I was on westpark tollway last week, apparently I flipped up my license plate and apparently the cop saw me do it and pulled me over and threw my in jail for running the toll and having a fictitious license plate. Nothing fictitious about it, plate belongs to the bike and under my name. My rear tire was in really bad shape with a plug in it so I didn't wanna risk taking the other option, didnt know I was gona be arrested for it either. Well it ended up being a Class B misdemeanor with a day in jail and a $500 bail. Dunno what the outcome will be, attorney got the court reset for a later date. Cop told me he was sick and tired of bikes running the toll, I guess I was the lucky one.

I wonder if the outcome would have been different had you not flipped up your license plate and just ran the toll, at least then I guess you could argue you were going to pay the bill when they mailed it to you?

Pretty sure the license plate thing was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. Probably have to pay the toll and the fine associated with it. I would imagine any lawyer worth 5 bux would get the license plate charged reduced to a class c "obstructed plate" or whatever they call it. Then you'd have to pay those fines.

The lawyer fees, bond and fines...well...you lose that.

I think the plate is what got you in trouble, but that sucks either way.

Dont see why bikes should have to pay the toll both anyway. 1 axle, $1.25...

So what does a bolt and swingarm pay?

But yeah flipping the plate got you jacked. I was thinking about getting one for the tolls, guess I wont.

It's a slick little plate deal too. What's up man I met you at Starbuck's the other night. Good lawyers are the key to everything but it will still cost you a pretty penny.

Personal I don't feel a bike should have to pay just much as a car. A bike does less if not any damage to the roads then a car. My 2cents. Plus I would said my eztag feel off.

I've never run the toll. Just pay it. I know it's extra time and hassle to stop the bike and take off your gloves to dig for change but it's worth not seeing light in your rearviews.

I see. He was gonna run to avoid the ride to jail because he wanted to avoid toll charges. Now he has charges on him he needs to try to avoid with the help of an lawyer. Sweet! He could have paid the toll and bought new tires and paid the toll a few more times.
