Some just don't care. They enjoy riding bikes on the street and that's enough for them. I couldn't but thats just me...

BTW thank you street riders for riding on the street. Every time you crash you give us an opportunity to get a salvage bike with no real damage for CHEAP!!!

, even I went 8 years riding the street before the track....some just don't know it is something tangible.

But mostly they are there to take pictures.

Yes, there are instructors for both novice and intermediate riders. I know TTD and Ride Smart have excellent instruction (TTD is better)

For the next day check the TexasTrackDays section on this forum!!
Joe I know this is off topic but you just brought up a good point I never thought about. CW's SHOULD have fire extinguishers. Maybe something to talk to M&M about?

IMO parade laps unless very well monitored are plain stupid. The only ones I've seen that are half way fun and pretty safe are the ones at the CMRA events.

If you can ride within your limit on the street and not crash, then you can ride within your limit on the track and not crash.
But some insurances do NOT cover a bike on the track, regardless of whether it is a race or a track day, there are insurances that just won't cover it period. On the street that's not really the case.

I have not done a track day because i am putting most riding off (especially aggressive riding) until i am clear of fire fighting academy. if i am hurt I will lose my desired career, as any injury that causes me to miss 24 hours of class or 8 hours of physical training means I am fired.
I know the odds are slim of being hurt at the track but it does happen, one of my friends is still not riding after doing some shoulder damage last year at a track day....I cannot afford even the chance of that.

your funny. and quite possibly have a reading disability.

i am not telling anyone NOT to do a track day, i am not talking down track days, i am a proponent of track days!

I simpy don't agree that if you want to be safer on the streets you MUST do a track day. If you or others think so fine, but opinions are like and everyone has one, and mine is that you are wrong in your assumption.

If it's in a "school" setting for riding most will. Riders should check their policy.

Always check with your insurance, but my understanding is that as long as it is not a TIMED EVENT, you're covered.

Timed event meaning race.

Like I said, yes some consider it a "school" if you call it such. All depends on your insurance. I know there are insurance companies that flat out will not cover a bike once it is on the track.
