you help out and work for the track day organization, and then another day you get to ride for free.

Seems to be there is nothing "safe" about doing that, no matter how many track days one has had.
You dont think that track days will help you survive triple the limit on backroads?

As I stated earlier, people will ride the way they want to ride. Does it give any less credibility to what is being said? Say because I ride on backroads, does that mean what I am saying is bullshit? Does it mean that track days wont make you a better rider because the person that said it rides on backroads?

How about this, how about instead if making fun of people at PP1 that ride around the streets. Sitting here on our keyboards, calling them tools, and idiots and jackasses etc etc etc...how about let's get them to the track? Perhaps that may save thier life and that of motorist.

Do I ride fast on teh backroads? Yes. Since I have started doing track days do back roads excite me less? Yes. Do I see getting off the streets in my future? Possibly.

And, Pyro...I agree...I did not see the "play on words". Doing track days will NOT make you a SAFER rider.

Better rider, yes. Better yet, I think it will make you a SAFER rider. Maybe not a more RESPONSIBLE rider, but definately safer.

YOU WILL...it's the inevitable. Perhaps that why some don't try the track. They hear about all the people who have given up the streets for the track and they don't want to go that route in fear that they'll be broke like the rest of us.

I think you took that in the wrong context. Will a track day make someone who is going to drive on backroads no matter what they do safer? Maybe, but there is alot of other ways to ensure one's safety and my point is a track day is not the bar all answer to that. The best way to insure one's safety is to start by riding safe. You cannot make the assumption that no matter what, any person who has done a track day will be safer on the streets than someone who hasn't. I am not saying I have not done high speed on backroads, or that anyone is a terrible person for doing such.
