MH Members with Sportbikes that HAVE NOT Done a Track Day! Lookie Here!

Just curious why you haven't visit one of the 3 track day organizations that sponsor this site?

I mean, before I became a member of MH, I didnt even know what a track day was. But with all the talk, hype, pictures, advertisements, etc...I think everyone here knows what track days are.

I know that before I did a track day I thought I had some skills, only to realize I didn't know anything!! I learned more in 1 day than I had in several years of "do-it-yourself" riding.

I ride with peeps on the freeways and backroads and it is blatantly obvious who has and who has not done a track day. And I am genuinely fearful for some that have NOT.

So...post up your excuses! Let's see if we can't overcome your objections!

open your wallet CDill. I think that is what keeps most from coming out...and the fact that they are scared of crashing their bikes.

I have done trackdays, but I am sure there are plenty of reasons why one might not want to do a track day. #1 is likely the overall costs involved (not just entry fee), they might not have any care to do a track day, maybe they work on the weekends, who knows?

And that's what I am looking for. The excuses.

Work on weekends? One organization has some fridays on thier schedule. Maybe even a monday.

Then you got labor day and memorial day.

Next excuse?

I have only been riding for 3 months and I am afraid of crashing my bike plus I would have to buy leathers. That said, I do ride with helmet, gloves and boots.

Like I said I have met plenty of people who have no interest in riding on the track.

Fuel, increased maintenance costs of doing track days, cost of transportation, if it is not a local track then cost of boarding, cost of gear, ect.

You're more likely to be involved in a get off riding street than track. Signing up for a novice group would be very beneficial to your riding skills.

Rent some leathers.
