Quote:
A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening when he was thrown from his bike after hitting a car near the parking lot of a northwest Houston mall, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was traveling north in the outer ring of the parking lot at Willowbrook Mall, 2000 Willowbrook Mall, around 6 p.m. when the driver of a black BMW traveling south failed to yield to traffic and turned left into the parking lot, said Houston Police Department. Sgt. L. Lefler.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, struck the right passenger side door of the BMW before being thrown from the bike, Lefler said.

He was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital-The Texas Medical Center, where he died. His identity is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

No further information was immediately available.

these are the hardest ones to stomach for me because its the other person's fault but if you were in a car you would have survived with almost a 100% chance.

RIP. That is the same scenario as my wreck. A black BMW failed to yield to traffic and turned left and sent me flying. Pretty much at head on collision. It sucks. Gear FTW though.

I really hate to hear news like this. But hopefully this will get more people to wear their helmet......Think about it, if you're just driving around the mall you would never expect to die.......I know I wouldn't.....not at those slow speeds. But alas, as we can see now.....it's easy to die with no helmet.....even when just driving in a parking lot.
