Yeah, it was surprsing. I was watching live times, and up to about 20 minutes left, Biaggi was 2nd on the sheet. Impressive results for a second official practice session. Nakano must have found something just at the end. I wonder how much the teams are working together.

Aprilia should be buzzing
very dissapointed with the Ten Kate Honda's & Sterilgarda,
Rea says they have a technical problem

He went down in qualifying... No injuries; should be back up front in no time...

Good catch.
My only guess is that they are using less springs, although probably stiffer to save weight.

Why do the results say 1098r and not 1198?

Cause officially the models for 2009 are

1198
1198s
1098r

there is not 1198r

my guess it has to do with the production bike/homologation thing. Since it is supposed to be a production bike and the production bike model is 1098R then that is what they use for the bike model but the sticker is 1198.

Dont worry about Shakey, come today he will be on it. Haslam is 3rd who he beat last year and Sykes is top 10. Shakey missed out on the 2 days testing here, he has only riden round the track for 2 days in 2004. He has had less than 2 hours track time and is only a second off pole. In Qualifying he had a small off about 15 minutes from the end and didnt go back out. I wonder when everyone set there fast times?
from the internet
Go Shakey
