The first rule about speedometers in a track day is that we don't talk about speedometers in a track day.
You want to know what the second rule is?

I have a carbon dash cover that covers the speedo as well. I believe OPP makes similar products for many different models.

I just put blue tape on it. It helps you concentrate on the important things.

Last thing you need to be looking at at 100+ mph is the speedo. Cover it and forget it, it means nothing on the track. Now a lap timer is another story......

tape your tach; not speedometer. Some disconnect it so they can focus on the track.

I don't look at mine on the street, most likely will not look at it on the track either. Just take it off and call it a day

You only look at it the first trackday or two so you can brag about how fast (ok slow) you were taking turns. Then u never pay it no mind. at least I dont
but since you are questioning it, go ahead and tape it

tape speedo up and watch tacho redline
better for the engine than hearing brap brap brap as it hits the limiter
