LEAN..... Its running too lean if its glowing the header pipes... You need to get it mapped. I am kind of suprised it needs it though with a Yosh duplex system on it....(they don't flow real well....I had one on my bike made 159hp with it and a small air box mod back in 2000)

Interesting numbers people were getting....I wish everyone would update their HP numbers on the sign up list, preferbly in bold like Joe did....

No.... Gen 1 busas with stock motors usually make the most power on 87 octane....maybe 1-2hp over 93 octane.....Depends on the map/tuning.

Now if you run VP MR9 oxygenated fuel that is $15 a gallon and can not be mixed with pump gas, that nasty sh*t will give you about 6-7hp but you can't leave it in the tank long.....very corrosive, eats up everything and gets real gummy if it sits. Put it in, race with it, then drain it after.

You would be better off getting a GOOD exhaust system and a custom map.

A Brock Streetsmart gen 3 system will give you around 8-10hp over the stock system, getting a custom map is worth another 3-5hp usually at least.

I am not sure about "your" gains because you have that Boz bros on there, that thing is probably making less power then a stock pipe.......

On average, a good running gen 1 busa with a small air box mod, Brock pipe and custom map will make anywhere from 165-170hp..... The average is 168hp....Depends on how healthy the motor is to start with...

Keep in mind a stock gen 1 busa can dyno anywhere from 148hp to 158hp completely stock, I have even seen one back in 2000 make 162hp.... Average stock numbers are 152-155hp. Ofcourse different dynos on different days blah blah blah will all give different numbers...I am talking averages here..
