riding tip: SV1000 rider at eldridge and clay @ 2150

when i pass you in a cage (or bike for that matter) don't linger in my blind spot. lucky for you i pay attention, but most wont. either get way back where i can see you in my rear view or way up ft past the A-pillar.

nice bike. nice gear.

If you pay attention, then why can't he linger in your blind spot? There's no danger in being run over by you since you pay attention, right?

Unless you're really trying to say, "when someone passes you in a cage (or bike for that matter) don't linger in that person's blind spot."

Duh. Yes, I read that. It doesn't matter if anyone else is paying attention or not. If that person is in your blind spot, he is lucky because you pay attention.

Now go bang your head.

If you passed him, he needs to speed up.

Send a message via AIM to blends
if you passed him and he's in your blind spot, YOU put him there. continue accelerating or slow down or change lanes until he's not in your blind spot.

jeez, you'd think an MSF instructor would know better.

so you as a rider assume the cager is paying attention, or should you as a rider ensure your own safety, by staying out of "my" blind spot?

I'm with Racer on this one. I am responsible for staying out of cages blind spots. Why? Cause I am the one that will suffer the most severe consequences if the cager makes a mistake. And if for some reason, I am in a blind spot, I sure make sure that I have an escape route when they change lanes on me. Happens at least 5 times everytime I ride on freeways, for more than 20 miles.
