My accident May 6th, 2005

Well,
I found some pictures from the scene the other day and I haven't posted them yet. So I figured that I would go ahead and post them. These were very difficult for my wife to see again due to the horrible memories.

In the picture, you can see the spot where I struck the vehicle. It was just to the right of the drivers side headlight. The vehicles in the picture are where they came to rest, not the actual point of impact.
PICT0011
In this picture, I had landed behind where the red trucks were parked on the right side. The vehicles on the left had stopped where my body laid. And of course, the red trucks (wreckers) came after I was relocated.

Depends on what you consider ok...lol. I am now paralyzed from the nipples up, but I am alive. I still ride on 2 wheels...when I ride a wheelie in the wheelchair.

The wreck was in Arkansas.
I was not at fault...Insurance is paying me 50k
The bike was a 2005 Suzuki SV650 (Wifes Bike)
And the wheelchair is for life.

Injuries were as follows:
2 broken arms (right arm was extensivly broken)
1 ripped tendon in thumb (tendon transfer was done)
3 broken ribs
3 broken vertibre (T4, T5 and T6)
Severed spinal cord
broken pelvis
Punctured lung
collapsed lung
4 chest tubes to drain fluid off the chest
1 heart tube to remove 900cc of fluid (<50cc is normal)
Torn Colon in several places (colostomy now)
Torn
Galbladder failure (removed)
over 25 units of blood transfused (basic oil change lol)
I think that is it...

I had no road rash whatsoever...my suits always have been good to me on the track and now on the road as well.

BTW, I have a lot of gear that I am going to unload soon. I have a red/black HJC jacket (leather), Tourmaster Cortec suit (textile), frank thomas full suit, 3 phoenix jackets (one is blue, one gray (never worn, tags on it), and one 3.0 all black), Hot wheels Shoei helmet like new, H.A.R.D System for V1, big tank bag, tail section bag, stock gsxr K1, K2, seat(like new), complete 2002 gsxr wiring harness for the 1K, brain for 2002 gsxr k1, complete fuel injection for the gsxr 1k. K&N filter (like new for GSXR), Airbox for GSXR..and other nick nacks.

H.A.R.D System for V1, .
might be interested in that.

and that was kinda my point, alex asked about gear, in the end it did very little for you. thats why the streets are so dangerous. it wasn't the road rash that got you, it was the blunt trauma.....and other then a lid, gear can't protect you from that. and blunt trauma is alot more common on street then track.

and yes he was a fast . you know we were on that ride in austin, when it was raining and all that crazyness 2-3 yrs back.
