That was funny. Kinda like when I go to confirm the word on the streets about my amazingly huge lady killer package down south. Yep, confirmed, package is officially not lady killing.

On another note, I would be happy to throw my talents toward helping anyone on this board who doesn't ride, but would like to, due to physical limitations. I used to have a customer at our bicycle store in St. Louis who had a deformed left hand and shorter arm. He came in wanting to ride BMX like all the other junior high school kids, but didn't know how to accomodate his "flipper" (his word, not mine, and later his racing nickname). He left winning mountain bike races in the Missouri State Championship Series. It's not that hard to retrofit controls from one hand to the other. The hard part is making it all work smoothly and rationally. But when you get it right it is really rewarding work.

I have an idea I've been mentally toying with for an outrigger system for parapalegics. Speed activated, failsafe (mechanical energy is stored, power not required for deployment), compensating for uneven pavement.... With today's new undertail exhaust bikes, it could even be cloaked as standard dual exhaust pipes. Add to that linked or thumb rear brake, an electric shifter, a semirigid support cradle for lower torso and legs in the classic position, a bunch of vecro, and SMR's are a reality.

Update from the field. It's not amazingly huge either.

I was thinking if I lost my left arm, movng the clutch to the right side and having both levers there but staggered.

It's amazing how much an accident can effect you mentally...........I wasn't hurt bad but.....honestly I've questioned whether or not to ride again at all.
It's fun, and I've made great friends and had some great times, but is the risk worth the reward?

Each of us has their own risk / reward threshold.
In the end you're the only one who can answer that one.

ttt for the rookies that think wreckless riding on the streets is OK. Walter could ride that R1 too. . .

The chopper we won the Houston IMS show with was built for a guy who lost his left hand. We just turned the rear brake into a foot clutch and linked the brakes.

Isn't that kind of dicey when he's stopped or stopping (one foot for the clutch, one foot for the shifter and no foot for the ground)?
