Hmmmm, must be a definition problem cause the "talented" riders I know are still riding and aren't being used as an example of what not to do.

That's dumb. Talent does not mean an absence of mistakes. In fact, to gain talent and experience, you've gotta make some mistakes along the way. Some mistakes are worse than others. I know a few talented people that have made mistakes that can be used as examples of what not to do.

His talents would have been better used on the racetrack, that is something we can probably all agree on. Accidents happen, plain and simple. not sure who you are, how old you are, or why you felt you should quote me on that, but a statement like that almost fits my statement about how most of these young guys think they're better than they are. i simply bumped the thread because some of the "cool guys" were commenting on RacerX's thread about how good of a rider the guy was in the 160MPH school zone thread. Take my post however you want, it's obviously not going to affect you in a positive manner either way. Like i said, if it changes one persons riding style/choices than i feel i have succeeded. Ride safe bro

NosRavenR1 was a decent rider but was pretty cocky and would make post about racing or running "The Forest" because he was quick through it.... then that day came when he made a crucial mistake.....

this thread goes to show you that no matter how "talented" you think you are on that bike of yours, there is a time and place for that and the street is not one of them.

When we went to Barber in June there was a control rider that had the use of only one hand.
He was faster than most everyone at the track. Amazing.

FWIW, I'm aware of those that ride one handed, I'm also aware that some of them are a lot faster than myself

What i was not aware of was walter riding a bike one handed. I hope he regains the ability to ride again, I just haven't seen/heard it yet.

Some people never recover mentally from an accident like his or mine. Some stay indoors and never get out to see the outside world again. It is a difficult and painful place to be in. Depression can be very long lasting. I know that even I still get depressed sometimes. It isn't nearly as bad as it was when I was bed ridden for 7 months but it is still there. I know I lost a lot more than the use of my legs when I had my acident and that has been the hardest part for me. Riding a bike was one on the top of the list. But I know that with legs or not, I will ride on 2 wheels again once I get settled in my new house.
