Right now, no Visitors for the first week of rehab, they plan to work his off and see how much he can do and they can get him to do. But will post when he can have visitors. When he gets home, I would like to have a big Bar-B-Q, with the help of you wonderful MotoHouston folks and show him he has a lot of friends who care! If anyone would like to send him a GET WELL CARD! It would be appreciated, he seems to like getting messages and cards so please send them to: TIRR C/O Walter Deringis 307-2, 1333 Moursund Street Houston, Texas 77030. Thanks again to all for your prayers!

Didn't he suffer a head injury as well? It seemed like it anyways when I saw him in the hospital. His foot got a wound and left arm was messed up from nerve damage.

Use to do that when I was a punk kid, 30 years ago, just by the grace of something tragic didnt happen to me now that I look back realize how STUPID it was and would NEVER consider doing it again, take it from me folks its not worth it, and life does go on unfortunately like this sometimes once U have kids and grandkids U will know, PLEASE guys dont even think about it. If U dont believe ask Walter.

Brian, I've talked to him a few times since the accident and I don't think his head is 100%. Something just seems different from the Walter i knew before. I would love to see him make a full recovery, but i'm not sure if that will ever happen.

I kind of figured so. I have an uncle that has a head injury and it reminded me of him. You can just tell when you meet someone like that. There really isn't anything to help something like that. Pretty sad actually but **** that, so is being in a ****ing chair! Lol.

Why did the posts end so suddenly after his mom's last update? Anyone know the TRUE full story behind the accident?

The short version is, he made an error in judgement and it cost him dearly and some of the posts were more about who was to blame than sympathy for the injuries he suffered. I think the family just decided that enough was enough and quit posting anything......

go back and read some of his posts and try to figure it out for yourself. . .it won't be that hard. Now he will live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life. FWIW, i wouldn't wish this kind of accident on anyone for any reason. i simply bumped an old thread to help educate some of the forum's newcomers about the lessons some of our members have already learned the hard way. it was hard on (almost) all of us when walter crashed. back then Motohouston was more about riding together than sitting in front of a computer screen "chatting" all day. Walter was a fast, experienced, talented rider.(most of the young guys on here see themselves the same way, and they're actually none of the above) His error in judgement almost cost him his life. if one person learns from this and changes their mind about the way they ride on the street than i feel that i have succeeded.

Hmmmm, must be a definition problem cause the "talented" riders I know are still riding and aren't being used as an example of what not to do.
