lil tip of advice

if you wrap conduit cable or digital readout cable around electrical lines you should be okay (provided you didnt cut any of the wiring). but i would highly HIGHLY suggest that you find non-metallic covering for spark plug wiring.

sunday morning (half asleep)

i go to start the harley, beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. opps (horn short circuit)
round two (unplugged left hand contorls, horn included) tick, tick ,tick, nothin. (it wont turn over)

round three:
after moving some wires, dis/reconnecting many wires.
ticktick "potatoe, potatoe, potatoe," so while its running i check to see if its on reserve (BAD IDEA)

ZZZZZZAAAAAAAAPPPPPPP

(now fully awake)
i jump around lik im a fukn kangaroo for a bit, turn the harley off, grab my coffee (monster) down the rest of it and lit a cigg.

jason (kacivic), jeff (Pheaydeaux sp?), my mom, and my dad are all laughing at the dumbass who got shocked by his own bike.

lesson to be learned:
dont wrap metal around high voltage wiring. apparently it changes the polarity or something. but it will shock the out of you!! i speak from experinece!!!!

that is all

i think jeff has got some pictures of the wiring.

Inductance.

Current flowing around the wires will be transfered into a ferrous material and carry voltage and current.

i pulld the conduit apart so that i could wrap it around the existing wiriing of the spark plug cables, not just run straight naked wiring through metal conduit. i know i ride a harley, but im not that dumb.

i was wearing a beanie during said shananagins, so you maybe right?

Yep. Sounds like inductance to me. And now we know that someone tried it and it don't work.

Don't know why you needed the coffee after that. You should have been wide awake.

There are magnetic fields flowing around the wire. In a typical sense it's current but not exactly the same thing you are thinking. The flowing field is call eddy currents. Those eddy current can and do transfer voltage, thus the pathway for a shock.
