From the crashes I have seen, every one of them on the street anyways were always a result of target fixation and running right off the road. I have yet to see either hi or lowside on the road. I have seen my share of both on the track though with lowsides taking the win.

Something else that happens with inexperienced riders is while fixating on a target or when entering a turn at a speed they can't handle, they apply too much rear brake.
Then as the bike begins to slide they release and POOF instant high-side.
