I love my 14. I like the layout of the guages more than any other bike I seen. It's got the big LCD screen in the center that tells u everything u need to know. Hevent had amy issues with mine at all. I ride it almost every day and there is a never ending amount of aftermarket parts avail. I say zx14!!!

I think kawasakijockey has the sexy beast in this thread. I actually like the look of the 14 better than the Busa. I like dual headlights rather than the cyclops look.

I rode a ZX-12 for 5 years. Was very excited about the ZX-14 coming out, but was a bit disappointed when it did. The banana seat doesn't do anything for me. The 14 stock cans are ugly but so are the new busas. All in all it is up to you. Both are great bikes. Sit on both, and if you get a chance to ride them - do so. I'm in the Missouri City area...if you want to take mine around the block feel free to. I was in the same position as you. I loved Kawi...but at the end of the day, the busa was just a better bike for me.

Plus they're easier to turbo..

my wife rides with me on the busa. she liked the feel of the rear seat more on the busa than the 14. on the 14 she kept sliding down the banana seat into my spot. i also added helibars to the busa and shaved the seat a little so it sits even more upright. I love the feel of it. the heli bars also made it handle better since they are slightly wider it gives more leverage in the corners. the busa also seem easier to work on... especially under the seat. the 14's tank goes all the way back to your under the seat... and alot less storage room on the 14. i was even able to make a backrest for the busa using the grab bar that comes with it so my wife doesn't feel like she's going to fly off if i punch it to get out of a jam. it also helps to keep her off me... at least when we're on the bike. i've also ridden a 14 with and without a passenger, either way it seems more wheelie prone, and it got way worse gas milage. with stock gearing i was getting up to 48 mpg highway, 32 around town. best i got on the highway with the 14 was 38 mpg. if you are in the league city area, you are more than welcome to come check out the backrest and seat and helibars... bring your wife with you if you want her to see the backrest

Good points here. I never thought about the seating on them. I like the way the 14 looks with the rear cowl on the seat but didn't think about her sliding down the banana seat. The one on the Busa looks like a little platform. Mileage isn't really such a big deal. I would already be saving a ton in gas just from riding a bike, period.

There is still a pretty big difference in price though. Just looking on CL, the 14 is 2-3k less than the Busa.

Ridden both many times

To me the 14 just feels almost as big as a goldwing
the busa still feels like you're riding something like a sportbike.

Perhaps the resale value sucks. They had a recall on the frames recently. Worth looking into. The new bike price on both is fairly close (excluding 09s).

I liked them both before I bought my 14. I took my friends for a ride and liked the riding position and the way it felt. Two things I don't like about my 14 are 1) no trunk space not even for a pair of gloves or sunglasses 2) the seat cowl is a pain in the to be taking off and on, it is held by 4 screws so it takes a little time and it scratches the tail piece I put some plastic pieces so it wouldn't scratch like the one that are on the glass tables. Another reason I got the 14 was I like to be different lol to many busas on the road.
