Hopefully those two idiots get the maximum penalty thrown on them. Prayers out to the fallen riders for a speedy recovery.

I'm not surprised. Having LEO Moto-Cops escort the Patriot Guard, it's not uncommon to see close calls with inattentive, or impatient cagers. I've seen quite a few.

Case in point... taken from article:

"Police said a 33-year-old driver of a Buick attempted to cut through a funeral procession when he struck a sheriff's deputy on a motorcycle."

We see these type of A**holes all the time.

We all have seen how they ride though. They expect all cars to yield. it doesn't always work out.

dam, I saw this on the news last night and it didn't occur to me till just now that this was the funeral procession that was for my best friend and that I happened to be in. His name was Chris Green and yes he was a rider himself and was a member on here but didn't ever post anything. Here is his profile: http://www.motohouston.com/forums/member.php?u=5805 . His picture doesn't show up but it was a 2000 cbr f4 with a camillion paint job. Here is the story that was on the news: http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?se...59332#bodyText This man was my best friend and rode with me and my younger brother everytime we went riding. I looked up to him as my big brother, may he RIP.

Here is what really happened the night my friend died: My brother and a couple friends were leaving from blackjacks bar and grill and headed back home going down west little york. The driver of the jeep, witch is another friend of mine, had way to much to drink and never should of been driving. The news said him and my brother were racing but that was not true, my brother said he, the driver of the jeep, was trying to race him but lost control after crossing greenhouse rd. and jumped the curb hitting the tree head on. My bestfriend, the passenger, who was not drinking, died instantly. My brother saw it all happen before his eyes, and no he was not drunk.

On another note, I hope the moto cops come through this ok and get well soon. When we left the church on our way to the grave site it had just got done raining pretty hard and the roads were pretty slick. I remember telling myself "I hope one of these moto caops don't have to stop real quick". I did notice a couple cars try to cut through our procession though. I guess the drivers around that area don't really have any respect for the grieving. very sad !!!!
