How did you wreck? What did you learn?

I think the best way to learn is from the mistakes of others that's why I always want to know the details of a wreck. Let's hear the details of what went wrong with your motorcycle accidents.

The only time I have dropped a bike was in my driveway. I had just got a 600 after I sold my scooter and was used to turning off the ignition and coasting into my parking spot. Well I did this in 1st at about 3mph and boom. Luckily I caught bike on my ankle and not a scratch. Big bruise on my leg though.

Jumped off a curb that was about a foot high. at the grocery store, the front tire landed in an oil slick and slid out from under me. I learned concrete hurts like a mother when your bike falls on you and spins you rotisserie style in the parking lot!

Highsided the out of the NSF and went flying. Lesson learned: if your sliding the front and your also sliding the rear.... might go wrong.

Going around a left hand turn, sign said it was a 65 mile per hour turn but i was doing around 80. I started in and hit gravel on the roadway. My rear tire got loose, i tried to shift my body weight and as soon as i did the rear tire caught and threw me high side. The bike Low sided.

I dropped mine when going slow around the arms in the parking garage. Now I keep my feet on the pegs ALL the time in the garage and I'm good.

I've dropped it in my driveway, before, too. That was because I'm short and my feet didn't touch the uneven ground and over it went. For that I shaved the seat 2" and lowered the front.

I hit a sink hole, in a pasture. I was on my old dirt bike (1980 YZ465), doing about 50mph. I flew over my handle bars and started tumbling... about 20ft from where my dirt bike was! I learned to fear driving fast through tall grass and that handle bars cause nasty bruises on thighs, and they will cause you to flip many times before touching ground.

10" of water on an offramp in the rain......brake as much as possible and sit back as far as you can.....asphalt hurts in the rain too.

A few months after I started riding I learned real quick I shouldn't be as comfortable as I felt, and that target fixation is real.

Second one. . . . don't trust dealerships even if they're sponsors. I should have also learned that cold tires suck.

Third time I learned that cold tires suck.

Bounced off the front of an SUV that turned left from oncoming and stopped(?) blocking a lane and 1/2. (Question ? is because Im not sure he actually had stopped before we... met or was still moving. AND because, I think if he had not stopped/slow (because the car ahead of him had stopped inthe driveway) I would have hit him broadside instead of have space/room to try to dodge him.

Be ready for that person be to just stupid enough to go ahead and try to make it, when there isn't the time/space for them to make it.
Assume the idiot IS going to go for it, instead of thinking/hoping they're NOT stupid enough to try it.
