So I can get this gsxr motor right....

So I met this guy at school with a gsxr600 engine for sell, he wants 1200 for it, but with my cool charm and mad persuasion skillz i can talk him down some.

But before i get my hopes up, what do you guys think bout rebuilding the bike? it is worth the time and effort?? is this something for me? i think it would b good use of my time, considering i want to learn how to put one together, and all the little details and wut not. Or is it just a waste of money?

Would you trust yourself putting a bike together and then taking it out on the freeway without it falling apart or breaking down on you? If so, go for it. If not, go for it and take pics.

He just has the motor? What about the frame, electronics, tank, radiator, brakes, wheels, forks, triple tree, bearings, swingarm, controls, the plumbing and wires between all, and anything else I am sure I missed? Do you have those or a source for those?

If you have them or a source go for it-its not that hard combining all the parts-as long as you are sure you got all of them. Do not try and fix bent forks yourself or a bent frame BAD IDEA.

DONT DO IT!!!! even if you pay $500 you still need to get a frame, wiring harness, suspension, REGISTRATION, etc.

you can buy a bike for $2k as your first bike. too much work. i rebuilt a bike and it cost me about the same as buying a used bike but i did learn ALOT.

I know of an 03 gix 750 motor with about 6k miles on it for $450. Clean title too. He has a crapload of other gixxer parts as well if you decide to build up a bike.
