Agree with all of them , except, don't pass me in my lane AT ALL unless I wave you around. My preference.

I don't like when you are following someone to a location, and they speed through a yellow light. Thus making you either stop and get split (possibly left) or a red light ticket. Next time when you see a yellow slow down and at least try to stop.

What you posted here is unclear? where do you want them?

I stay in the same lane for the most part but keep it to where I can see the other rider using their mirror if they are in front of me.
That would be staggered formation then and not side by side if i am not mistaken?

Thanks for your input, but your a bit off. I actually met up with MY group of friends. There was another group meeting up right down the street and they invited us out to meet with them and ride there together. I'm not gonna be a lil and say nah nah I don't wanna meet up with them, I don't know them. Since you like to ride solo, maybe that goes along with you not having very many riding friends. . . Anyways not knowing how they ride, I was planning on riding in the back with whoever in my group wanted to do so as well. They are WAITING for us as we show up there, I was expecting them to be turn-key ready to go. But, they weren't. Ironically, they were waiting on the. . yep you guessed it, Fiat R6. Anyways our group decided to roll out early but we ended up rolling out @ the same time as the other group. Our group started out in front b/c they took the long way out of the parking lot. From there the ride was okay. It just bothers me when another bike passes me in my lane and rides RIGHT next to one of my friends @ Freeway speeds.

That's another one too, but it is situational. There's a lot of factors involved in one of those situations and really you just have to use your best judgment. If the group does in fact get split up, then if at all possible, the ones who made it through the light should to stop and wait. That's why it's good to know where your going at ALL times. Not always realistic though, but if you can help it, KNOW where you're going.

Nothing is unclear. Side by side. There's no other way to interpret that.
Staggard formation, for those that took MSF, they will understand this method.

I remeber one of the first days I started riding going on one of the huge ramps from 45 to beltway, not even looking behind me. Out of no where another rider passes me IN MY SAME LANE and waves going by. I was nervous enough already, and didn't even see him coming up. Could have been an accident real quick, you just don't know who you are riding around could be a noobie like me.

Exactly my point. While you have to be aware of your surroundings, other riders need to do their part and practice common courtesy to help everyone stay safe on the road. forbid, we have to deal with all the Houston drivers, we should not have to worry about the other riders. . .

It is always the riders that have not been down that think it is all fun and games. Once you hit the hard concrete, it's funny how all these little worthless saftey reminders seem to make more sense. Not to beat a dead horse, but "if you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough

I really don't mind getting passed, but I do agree on one thing, if you are gonna fly past me - stay the f*ck past me. Don't be zippin by and then lagging and then zippin by again f*ckin up my rhythm, my gameplan, my ride.

Call me boring but I ride in a fairly predictable manner. I don't go slow and then all of a sudden downshift 2 gears and blast just b-cuz I'm switching lanes.

Oh, and I have turn signals that actually work - and get used. Call me a dork but I think alerting other folks as to what I'm up to is "cool."

I do have some bad habits as well though - I have rode 2 to a lane, side by side, on slow commutes down non-busy streets around town at times - but only with about 2 of my closest boys that I've been riding with for years (meaning I know how they ride, they know how I ride - and yea, I'd trust their judgement with my safety)

For the vast majority of the time and with ANYONE else, staggered is required just because I don't know you, and don't want you that close to me, I don't want to be that close to you, cuz I have no idea WTF might be going through your head.

I also do my best to protect my n00bs and believe that we can improve our biker community as a whole if we try to show them the proper way to get it done, instead of b*tching about the way they conduct themselves - AFTER the fact.

And for 's sake, can we get single-file thru turns down? Simple enough.

Here is another:

When passing a slower vehicle get passed and stay on the gas long enough to let another bike pass and get back in the lane. I have accidentally left some people hanging when passing. My bad.
