We can't all be the studs you are...... I know guys on Wings that routinely do 500-800 mile days... of course, setting the cruise on a barcolounge and rolling the interstate is a bit different.

Heck I made it from Monterey CA, via Bakersfield, Las Vegas, a stop at the Denver airport and home to Colorado Springs in 18 hours... in a 68 Camaro, at Christmas time. Do the math on that one!

And the heater was blanked off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so down for this trip. I've done almost the exact same route, twice. It's really not that bad when you consider slab is easy and fast, and the slow and fun stuff really isn't that slow and lots more fun at speed. I recall 1200 miles from 5PM Thursday to 3PM Sunday over the same route, with 200 miles of bar hopping, crshing out in Austin on a house on the lake, sleeping on the patio of a closed bar overlooking the guadalupe, and hiking in and out of lost Maples to camp. So riding wore us out, but everything else made it twice as exhausting.

Did I mention I'm in?

So, based on PM's and my original private invites, here is what I have so far, subject to change if people back out/can't go.

First 6 get dibs on the free floor to sleep, after that you are on your own for beds....

If someone out of the top 6 drops out, I'll move up the list in the same order. We'll be staying on the North side of San Antonio, breakfast at the OST in Bandera Sat.

1) texlurch
2) japawhat
3) TXOUTLAW
4) MIC
5) Azylum
6) narfly
7) Herf
8) Shadman

There are others that posted that they would like to go, but these are the ones that said "I'm down, fo' sho'"... if you think you are coming, copy and paste the list.....

More plans as we get closer, plan on leaving out 7 am or so Friday morning, return late afternoon Sunday.

I might be down for this. My last trip out there was virtually the same route and was a blast. I just need to check the dates.

... bump

First 6 get dibs on the free floor to sleep, after that you are on your own for beds....

If someone out of the top 6 drops out, I'll move up the list in the same order. We'll be staying on the North side of San Antonio, breakfast at the OST in Bandera Sat. Please post and remove your name if you are not coming...

1) texlurch
2) japawhat
3) TXOUTLAW
4) MIC
5) Azylum
6) narfly
7) Herf
8) Shadman

Planned routes...

Day 1 April 24. leave around 7:30 am from West Houston I-10 340 miles
http://tinyurl.com/asc5e5

Day 2 April 25, breakfast at OST, lunch at Frios, side trip to Stonehenge II, 340 miles (we'll be doing BBQ that night for those not staying at the house, you're welcome to come over and eat)
http://tinyurl.com/c8vg52

Day 3 April 26, back to Houston via Devils backbone, lunch at Orsaks 250 miles
http://tinyurl.com/b3mq57

Pace will be fun but not stupid, we all want to come back in the same shape as we leave. I plan on taking turns leading and sweeping so be prepared. We roll only as fast as the slowest rider is comfortable with, stops every hour or so for breaks and stretching.

Make sure you have good tires, roads in that area are fairly abrasive.

Those that are going, what do you want to do for eats on Friday, other than dinner?

I was looking at finding breakfast in LaGrange, and then lunch around Marble Falls, Fredericksburg or Luckenbach.. thoughts? Input?

Sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do!

Just explain that you "have" to go... or the repurcussions to the worlds rotational axis could be catastrophic... or sumptin' like that...

Make sure and spell check before you do your presentation there, Einstein!!

(p.s. I think that's inversions... unless the body snatchers are at it again)

Trust me... 1000 miles in 3 days on the average sport bike will take the wind outta your sails...

heck, a lot of people around here cry because they have a 45 minute ride to get to the Forest or whereever... we're looking at 10-12 hour days... times 3!
