Transponder rental question

The CMRA site shows that you have to put down a $395 deposit to rent a transponder...does this have to be cash or can it be with a credit card? anyone know?

It is a small box that sends out a unique signal. That signal is read by a beacon that is at the start/finish line. The CMRA registers your transponder to you, so in the race and during practice your laptimes & running order are recorded. You can buy them and have a transponder of your own or rent then weekend to weekend.

what is a transponder? they are expensive and can be easly lost in the grass if you crash. (err were easy to lose before they moved them to the forks). I almost lost mine after a highside there. The CMRA uses CC for the deposit just in case.
