Anyone had experience with Pilot Leathers?

It "seems" to be a quality product and i have been watching lots of coverage from www.onthethrottle.tv over the weekend and see several teams using these suits. They have quit the list of racers on theyre website............and the price for a custom fit suit is almost scary cheap. Thus why i ask.

Anyone know much about the product, say in comparison to Syed, besides just price???

Thanks for the number. I see Komodo also offers making a custom fit suit, did you have it made per your measurements? And also which suit did you purchase?

I also recommend a Komodo suit. I have the Meso suit, and am very happy with it. Mine has held up very well to a few lowsides, and the quality and worksmanship is outstanding. The suit is a little on the heavy side, but I feel very comfortable with it on that if I go down, I will be well protected.

I am not sure if they still do, but they used to have the shop up in the DFW area. I actually had them bring me a couple of suits out to MSRC to try on before I purchased mine.

You can't go wrong with a Komodo suit.

i dont think thats all that cheap.
Komodos are in the same ballpark and i think komodo is a better suit, plus you would support a fellow CMRA member business.

komodo's custom fit suit is nowhere near pilot's custom suit price of $1,000 which includes any color combo, lettering on the back, patches (whatever patch they have, or whatever other patch you want on).

now that is a badass deal.

i've heard pilot has been around for a long time, and used to have the best leather stuff back in the days. i'm not sure about now....but i have seen more than a handful of AMA guys/girls wearing their suits as well.

IF my Syed suit ever takes a dump...i'm gonna give Pilot leathers a try.

not on komodo in any way....they make great suits as well, but just trying to give some insight on what i've found out on pilot leather's custom suit.

Thanks for the insight. I thought it was unbeleivable cheap considering 1k gets you a decent middle of the road off the shelf suit from most manufacturers........so i thought it was way cheap for a truely custom suit. Especially since you get to choose the options you want on the suit also, and ALL the options are already INCLUDED in the price of the suit, so no up charge for the extra frills.

But as always, opinions are very subjective. Still wondering how they say the suit is that light though?? I do keep hearing the Kumodos are somewhat heavy, which seems to be a good thing and a bad thing in different respects.
