pcIII question

A guy on another forum has a used pcIII for sale. He is asking 250 for it. He used it for a season and a half, roughly 10k miles on it.
Is it a bad idea or big gamble to buy a used pcIII? I have no idea and was looking for some guidance, if its usually a durable unit, whats a good offer to him? Like 220?

And has the possibility of traction control. WHOOT!

He needs to come down on the price of the PCIII. That is almost what they cost new.

i paid 250 for mine 1 month old, and came with a brand new bmc race filter.....i wouldn't do more than 200.....and there was a batch that had issues from what i understand and they would start glitching for no reason and make your bike act goofy.....and don't forget to reset the throttle adjustments in the programming to your bike or you'll think you got the shaft!

I wouldnt give more than 100 for a used one. A new one is 250 retail. A new one is only 200 cost to a dealer.

Hey Will, do a search for Bazzaz on the site. I did a write up comparing it to the new power commander, the PowerCommander V.

I would definitely have gone with the Bazzaz if I had to do it over. Bazzaz can be used with a wide band O2 sensor so the fuel maps can be almost self adjusted. Very nice and no expensive trips to the dyno.

Thats sounds like a good deal with no trips to the dyno. From what I've read, with using a pcIII, you won't get the fulll potential out of the product unless you get a custom map @ the dyno. After installing, race filter exhaust etc.
I will search the bazzaz right now!
So its more of a plug and go?.....AHHH f&ck it, I'll search some posts here..

You can get the bazzaz with the quick shifter then ad the afm to that when you want too. Its really more like when you can afford to. Im just gonna do all of the mods at once and then dyno. Its a little cheaper to dyno instead of the afm. I figure if you do all of the mods you gonna do up front, you can do just as much with a little dyno time. With the PC if you want to use a quick shifter you need the PC,ign. mod, and the shifter. With the bazzaz you have to but fewer parts.

Where are you going to take your bike to get on the dyno? I don't know of a reputable shop around town.
