I went to dealerships because I didn't want to f#ck up my bike. I dont have a garage right now or proper tools so I think its best for myself, in my situation to take it to a shop. Brandon was my mechanic at Lyle Lovet before they moved, one part went to Big Dog on Fondren @ 59, others went to Katy Yamaha.

I hear that. I take my bikes to shops too for work that is beyond my ability, just not dealerships For example, I probably need to replace my fork seals, I MAY try to tackle it with the help of a friend, but I may just go take it to a trusty shop I know of, either way, the dealership aint seein my bike

Word, I also went there for most of my work because the service manager, TIM, has known me and my family all my life....
He hooked me up with MANY discounts on service and always shot straight with me about my bike and mods I considered. Brandon was straight up with me too. Its a shame people had to come and bash him in this way.
I'm not saying he didn't do what was said by OP. I think the guy deserves another shot.

Sounds like your an exception. Luckily, my shop is the same way, but BETTER. Others have seen the light and they can attest to it. . . Anyways I normally won't order anything he wouldn't recommend, and trust me, he ain't tryin to upsell or make more change he just knows his and knows whats good, better, and best.

Back on topic, At this point, its a crappy situation all together b/c the stories don't match up. Hopefully something good will come out of all of it. . .

WOW. I can't believe I read all of that.

Ray, sorry to hear your bike was totaled. I didn't think it was THAT much damage when I looked it over at the Anderson Shell. Either way I hope you get your situation fixed.

I have no opinion on the dealership as I will never take my bike to one for maintenance. Either myself or Motorcycles Unlimited will be turning the wrenches.

Nice of you to manipulate my posts.
The first 2 posts were made out of frustration and I apologize unreservedly but it was also made before my last statement. There is no need to instigate.

I believe I've said all I needed to say. Both sides were represented and defended with some minor details conflicting. But in general he did admit not taking the time to troubleshoot the problem.

Glad everything went well for you over there.

Its unfortunate that the OP had the experience he did.

I think Gary is stating that dealerships can be overpriced, which is true. There hour rate for labor is usually high. When it comes to convenience, if its close and you dont mind spending the extra bucks then it sounds like a decent route.

Don't know what side of town you are on, but 2 wheel toyz off Spencer Road will take care of you. [ great guys ]
It is worth the drive cross town.
