Astar RIP Ride for Roderick!! Feb. 15.

It so sad to hear that a fellow MH member has been taken from us on Wed. Feb. 11,2009. I dindn't know Roderick but from what I have read in the past threats he must of been one of a guy. The members and I want to have a ride for him this Sund. to go all the way around 610 and then just meet up at the Starbucks on Woodridge. Its like I tell my friends we are never promised that next breath of air and we do have it sharish it like its the last one. Roderick you will be missed by all of your friends and family and my prayers go to the family and to his girlfriend I am so sorry to hear this happened.

I think one of the members of 2Minus 1 callled me last night right when I was watching the news asking me if the people in my crew was ok and I answered yes and why. He said because there was a bad accident on 45s by Broadway right when he told me that it was on the news. Thanks for the look out bro.

We are going to meet at Amc 30 at 12:30 pm and headout at 1:00pm.

Anybody that would like to ride and pay respect your more than welcome to come.

Just add your name to list if want to come. Like I said I didnt know him but I am pretty sure if we would of met we would be good friends and the members of Astar and I want to do this ride for him.

The list.

isn't this the same as your ride every weekend... Please tell me you're not using his passing as a way to try to get more riders... that's how it seems to me since your ride details are the same as every other weekend and you stated that you have never met the guy.

man edgar is trying to do something nice. if he was trying to get more members i think he would say RIP Roderick and Astar Recruit Ride.. dont you think? leave the man alone he is doing no harm to you or anyone else by riding.
we are all on thie site for the same reason. we all love bikes in some way right?
just my 2 cents

i was just stating what it looked like to me and hoping that he had better judgement than that... but it sounds kinda odd.... especially this soon after. he mentioned nothing of stopping by the accident site either... normally that is done on a tribute ride and it is normally set up by a close friend. it seems like he knows that Rod had a lot of good friends and he wants to organize a ride that lots of people will show up to since his normal rides at the same time have had limited numbers of riders show up. maybe I'm wrong.... but maybe I'm not

ok you have a point. but i think edgar is just trying to show others that he and his crew care about other riders. meaning for everyone to stop bashing on them (astar riders) i have to say. i edgar for what he is trying to do. he is showing respect to a fellow MHer. and if he is trying to get more people then let him. but in all honesty Edgar is doing nothing wrong..

ps. i got 13 phone calls from people last night checking on me. thinking i was the one that died on 45. not to mention my family calling.
ive never knew this guy Roderick. but my heart goes out to him and his family.

you should take money on this ride edgar maybe like 10$ a person or something and donate the money to his family or something. you should team up with his close friends and work something out.
what you are doing by this respect ride is a great idea

than at least say how your ride is going to pay him respect....

matt's went by the crash site and people laid flowers there...
koskesh's ride did the same,

and those were all at least 2 weeks after to give people a little bit of grieveing time and to get back on the bike. I think you are doing your normal sunday ride but calling it a "memorial" ride to get more riders. if not, you would have just called it the memorial ride instead of putting your name on it, after all, it is HIS ride, not your's

dude chill out your always giving them a hard time. why do you dislike them so much? is it b/c your jealous? are you lonely? do you need friends? why is it hard for you to just go alone with this and pay sometype of respect?

im not bashing you man. but let edgar do his thing. if people show up then great. if not them oh well. atleast he is trying to pay sometype of respect to roderick. just like i would like someone to do the same for me if i ever went down and never got back up. im sure you and many others would want the same to right??

I say both of you quit acting like some bissshhheeesss and just let the man REST IN PEACE. Il be there regardless with or without a bike to show my respect, and yes we should collect like $10 per rider to help the family out.

So please just relax, gawd knows that we have enough drama already, just once can we just agree on something and put our egos and childish ways aside.

And aramis did you work at cycle gear?

I think what SB is trying to say is traditionally close friends set up the ride. And those who want to pay respect show up. And maybe a little time to grieve, and maybe on a Thursday(seems more fitting for a memorial to the situation). That doesn't sound like asking for much does it?

No, Of coarse not, I just jumped in to kill the noise that they were making you know...

I hate when People argue especially after someones death, they argued at my dads funeral and fought lol. So I guess that is why I reacted the way I did.

I apologize if I offended anyone. Really didnt mean to what so ever.

No offense taken...just tryin as you did to maybe make a little calmer request for a more passionate/respectful ride.

But i do think closer people to him should be the ones getting this thing going.

I'm not trying to argue... it just seemed fishy and I was asking him to clear it up. there have been 3 other riders this year that have passed that were posted on MH... i just saw it as odd that he did it for this rider only because it was high publicized here. We all know he's been trying to get riders... what better way to get a big group together? i just think he could have thought about the close friends first, and named it Rod's memorial ride... oh, well, I'll stay out, just trying to clarify and make sure he's aware of how he looks in other's eyes. I didn't see the post as a memorial ride but more of a not-so-good "marketing" idea
