Don't mean to be morbid, I just left the scene, my bike literally died in traffic on the way to PP1 and I pulled over on the shoulder with 2 other bikes right in front of the accident. Cop told us it was a hit and run, driver rear-ended Rodrick and left.

He was still laying in the street when I left... very sad.

Also, if anyone knows his family, the cops were asking us if we could notify the next of kin, they couldn't get anything off of him since it was a crime scene... that's what the cop said. He was with 3 other bikes

really hope someone saw something like a license plate and gives the info to the police, bad karma for these folks won't be enough. some real justice is needed if this is all true.

RIP to the rider. i don't think i've ever met him but all the kind words from everyone goes to show ya that he seemed like a great guy.

Omg, I can not believe this! I just talked to him the other day he made sure I was ok after I wrecked. This can't be real. He is such a great guy. My prayers are with him and his family. Please let me know of details for his arrangements. :,(

SUPPOSIDLY....and I say SUPPOSIDLY because the cop didn't tell me this but another rider that stopped with me when my bike died on the freeway was up there with other cops and someone said the license plate of the car fell off and they have it there.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up because I didn't see it myself and didn't hear it from the cop that was on the scene talking to me...but a rider I was with said the license plate of the car that hit Rodrick and took off somehow fell off at the scene.

Sucks man... poor guy. I always feel bad when I read a RIP thread but it never really hit me that it is real until tonight. When you are there, you know that a life was taken right in front of you... and then its real.

Be careful out there guys, I know it may look dorky on a tripped out R6 but thats why I take the HOV to and from work... just don't want cops looking for a way to a number to a family member of mine so they can tell them the bad news...

that's always the scariest thing about riding - OTHER DRIVERS

I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but my prayers go out to his friends and families.

Houston drivers are CRAZY, I was almost hit in my TAHOE [muuuuch bigger than a bike and easier to see] by a guy in an Inifiniti SUV that was talking on his cell phone and began to merge into my lane without CHECKING HIS BLIND SPOT or his mirror...

You guys take a chance everyday when you're out there riding, please please please please watch out for the other person. That is 90% of riding.
