I've been thinking of a 250 for a track bike. I think it would be good economically instead of a 600 and probably more fun.

well, I'm sporting a 09 250. Its a kick riding alone. Though having a 600 blast away from me while im WTFO top gear at redline, full tuck, tail wind and only doing 105mph(indicated), is rather annoying.

those 450cc super singles would make a killer street bike.

sound cooler than a off sewing machine, too.

Since I haven't ridden a 250 Ninja I probably am not qualified to respond.

In any event - I assume you are keeping your F4i.

In that case if you like the bike and are honest with what you expect from it and read the reviews and it seems to match your expectations.

Pick one up.

It would probably be a blast.

And it would come in handy if you find a girl that is interested in riding enough to get her license but does not have a bike yet.

Or if your F4i ever spends time in the shop.

Good Luck

DO IT MAN!!! You'll learn alot about how to carry more speed and get the gas on quicker. All you can do is learn from a bike like that!! I want one so bad!!!

I upgraded to my 675 but miss my 250 ALOT. I have considered buying another 250 but consider the price some people are asking for 250's excesive. It sucks when at 75 miles per hour your bike doesnt really want to go faster or when one of the big bikes blows you off the road. Or when everyone turns on their bike and yours sounds like a weedwacker which gets you the name Weedwacker :(. BUT it really can be alot of fun to ride & try new things on. I didn't care as much about getting a scrape or getting it stollen, it was 1,500$ . . take it, I dont care. Its forgiving for mistacks & a real chalange to try and make the bike equall a bigger bike. It makes you a better rider in the end is my opinion. Not sure I would give up my current bike to get a 250, but as an addition to my garrage.
Oh and for looking funny on the bike, at 5'11" i looked funny on the 250, but do you really give a ???

Buy a used one. You won't lose much money on it if you decide to sell it within a year. And it's inexpensive enough that you won't kick yourself if you drop it.

Why would this be such a great track bike for anyone? At stock it is heavier than a 600, has less braking, less suspension, and way down on power. This whole idea makes NO SENSE!!

It weighs MORE than a 600? That's crazy!! At 442 lbs, it weighs more than my gixxer. That just doesn't seem possible, but I validated the number on the kawi website. Crazy.
