I have a Suomy helmet and like it much better than the other helmets i have owned. I will be going with a different company when I decide to get a new jacket. Textile, I have not tested myself yet but I have one and it is just collecting dust. I feal much safer with a leather jacket and use it all year long with the liner in most of the time.

Thanks for the feedback on gear...and for the welcoming...I'm not worried about the leg humpers...I was pre-warned by Todd (Sifu-Tz) before I ever joined the site!

Sassy..... me likes!! ...

it's gear.... any protection is good protection. Some look better than others, some work better than others. Any real leathers is obviously the best. It's not like she's gonna start at the track!
In addition, leathers can get rather warm in H-town...so its probably good to have several.

Locate what you like, what fits and do your research..then decide. everyones unfortunate experiences here are going to be different, so don't let them deter you from making a decision.

Just because it didnt work for one, doesn't mean it will not work you.
It worked for gixxergirloh2...!

and to say ICON is for stylish fashion is NARROW .... it's GEAR....promote it!

oh and welcome aboard!

Welcome to MH!

Buy your gear before you get the bike! You'll be tempted to ride w/o it, otherwise, and that's a no-no.

I LOOOOOVE my SV650, but I started on a 250- much easier for learning. And buy used! Everybody drops their bikes when they start out.

Thanks. I am most def buying a used bike and plan on having my gear before I even take the class. If I can't find a SV650 then I will prob end up with a 250 for now since they are so easy to find. I like your bike too...I seen ur post about the new paint job. Sounds hot! Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Yeah. Me, either! They finished the body work already, though, so it's just a matter of time now...
