Angry lady ran a light. . . I hit the ground.

I was riding last night back from the Phillips on the corner of Calhoun and OST back towards UH campus. As I was approaching Macgregor park I saw a black acura SUV approaching her RED light and I was GREEN and figured she was stopping. Well that was a bad thing to figure cause the very next thing I saw was the front of a car crossing in front of me and I stopped the bike down to 3/4 mph and at the last second it came up and I went over the front and the bike slammed down on the left side.

I was UNSCRATCHED. I didnt even have dirt on my slacks. crazy!

The bike has the following damage.

-The bracket that holds the widscreen (looks like it has 4 legs off a center). The left side upper part snapped.

-front fairing cracked under the headlight

-Shift lever the end broke off it.

-The left foot peg broke off.

-one side of the bracket that holds my rear passenger seat cover broke.

-random road rash

She drove off after swirving around me and hauled . My big didnt want to start right away but ended up starting and I think its just fine with the exception of the things I mentioned. I wonder what this whole things gonna end up costing me.

Ill have pics up soon.

Robo,
Man glad you're o.k.!
That sucks about her hit and running you.
The is there needs to be a higher penalty if you hit and run a motorcyclist.
This is why I advise most people to at least carrry UIM on top of liability, this happens way too often!
Give me a shout tomorrow and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

There were too other upstanding 3rd ward citizens at the light but they just drove off aswell. I did not file any report as I just have liability and it would have been futile.

Patrick:
I dont know if you can determine by my description but what is the name of that bracket that attaches to the front fairing and all that business.

How much you think repairs are gonna cost me Ballparkish. I wont hold you to it at all I know you would have to look at it in person to make an accurate statement.

Im always glad to see how much people care when a fellow rider goes down. I really think I did as well as I could given the situation.

I would be more upset if I would have made some mistakes in reaction to the situation.

man 1st of all glad you're healthy but this is the 3rd person in a row I've known to be a victim of hit and run!!!
Do you guys ever think of organizing an awareness ride not to exceed 10mph over every lane on all the freeways and major roads. I think about like taking a sock full of pool and smacking every car within arms reach. Just think if evertybody did that on the same day the news would spread fast. We could seek out cell phone users and just smack em!!! I bet they would hang up!!!

Am I taking this too far? I don't have road rage do I?

Yeah man, glad to hear your o.k. Glad to see so many other riders, and to see how we care about one another. Moving from L.A. to Houston was the top 3 best decisions I ever made in my life. 1. getting saved, 2. getting married to a real female that's down for me, 3. moving to H-Town. All of you all on this web site is a class act. Bless you bro in all of your endevours, and I'm praying 4 U. "1"
