I love my '08 gsxr, but for an '09, I'd seriously be looking at the R1. The "almost" big bang motor would be a great toy on the track.

I see that you own "several r1's". if thats the case, I'd go for a gsxr 1k. Then, if not a gsxr 1k, then i'd spin it up and buy something different..perhaps a cbr 1k. I hear good things about the 2009's.

BTW, good luck in your search...and have fun!

There's a big difference between 08 and 09. Still a gixxer though.

You gotta admit that you'd want to try the track with that new motor. Apparently a big bang motor gives changes the pulse duration of the power through the rear tire, lengthening the pause between pulses thus increasing traction and drive out of the corners.

Then again, doesn't the new CBR have antilock?

Gotta agree with Maxgs on this one.
New R1 does sound pretty dang cool and it'll be nice to have a little variety in your garage as far as engine configurations go.

The motor sounds interesting......but I haven't liked the R1's since 03. I never felt all warm and fuzzy with the styling.

The new gixxer is ugly. The front end? Call it a ButterFace.

You need something new. I remember passing you a couple of times at the last track day. Ba ha ha ha.
