Yeah they did use a later model R1 98 or 99 year. I bet the 2001-02 GSX-R 1000 or R1 2004 or even the Kawasaki ZX-10 would have help the motorcycle rider win this race. The problem with this race is that the rider is truely the loser not the bike. You have to remember it 90 percent rider and how the rider carries his corner speed. To bad they couldn't find any ISLE of MANN Champions to do this race. Now you see why SpeedVision only show 90 percent car racing 24/7. Total BS don't your think.
