I saw this a bit ago, bad ! Can't wait!

Really interesting about the crank shaft. Crossplaned cranks are designed for V8 car motors primarily, essentially the crank planes cross at 90 degrees at the crank pins. I didn't know they used these in motorcycles..... I thought all motorcycle cranks are flat plane?

Some wikipdeia if your interested.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossplane

Sorry bout jacking the thread a bit!

Still saying 16.5" which makes me think reports of 17" for 2009 are incorrect

Nevermind.......just remembered the rules.

Anywho.......the bike itself remains a beast. With a beast, more or less, at the helm. Can't wait to watch.....

I've done a little more research, and what I have found is this. They will start the season on 16.5" tires, and if corner speeds become an issure or if Dorna decides they want to slow the bikes down for some reason. Then they will change to a 17" tire. So I jumped the gun a little in saying everyone will be on 17" rubber. With that said, I still think they will make the change by the end of the season.

I like that snake head looking tail section. They should put eyes and a tongue on it so to give the rest of the field something to look at, lol...

Yamaha did like 2500 replica fairings for both R6 & R1. For the 2008 models, they were really nice.
