Mala's Helmet Research

Soooooooo, I'm obsessed with finding a new helmet. Unfortunetly, there's little out there for an otaku such as myself. Very few helmets with any kind of anime design--looks like I'd have to find a airbrush artist to paint one for me. Found a few generally nifty ones though.

Predator scheme:
http://www.airbrushartists.org/Gct47...le_Helmets.asp

Gundam scheme:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OGK-J...Q5fMerchandise

Then I found an article that explains how Nigerians are wearing pumpkins and gourds on their heads to avoid new helmet laws.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7813418.stm

Updated Gundam design (with Engrish)
http://www.oneinchpunch.net/2008/12/01/gundam-helmet/

Then I stumbled on "Japanese Rice Crackers with Whole wasps Inside"

There are lots of unique airbrushed helmets here. Sigh. Wish I had paint talents.
http://www.airbrushartists.org/Gct15_Helmets.asp

This one's pretty intriguing. . .
http://www.airbrushartists.org/Gal21...olden_arai.asp

Well organized helmet reviews by brand:
http://www.webbikeworld.com/Reviewed...s/Products.htm

An exerpt that cracked me up:
"HJC has been pumping out new helmet designs about as fast as TV execs come up with "reality" shows, but their strategy has finally got me stumped.

We were -- and are -- big fans of HJC helmets, because the brand is known for high quality and a robust feature set at reasonable prices.

But the CS-R1 is apparently designed to do combat with the multitude of bottom feeders that have appeared over the last year or so: the under-$100.00 motorcycle helmet."

And a couple of guys had parts of a meth lab on their bikes while riding:
http://www.courierpress.com/ecp/glea...631898,00.html

Apparently someone is looking to design "ribbed" helmets based on Gladiator styled helmets. Curious.

Same site has an article entitled "Feline Humiliation Helmets"

Somewhere in Japan there is a place where smoking, dogs, helmets, cameras, ice cream or drinks and note-taking is prohibited.

Well, and I still don't have any idea what I want...but the wasp crackers were cool!

I thought I'd share my stream-of-conscious helmet research with you guys. I think the pumpkin helmet thing deserves its own thread, but I was too lazy to do a search. No worries--I shall remain sharpish, appropriately acerbic with a smidgen of compassion, pithy yet humble: crunchy on the outside--chewy on the inside.

fine, but if you will please shave some humble off the top, carry the 2 on your acerbic side, and lets see a little more crisp on your crunchyness. for you are the Chosen One's female nemesis, and that will require your bite to leave more internal damage and your bark to be like the clap of Atlas' hands to his ears. we need you to kuntpunt him, in short.

Gawd, I can't figure out if I'm being set up as a patsy or a stalking horse.

The anime Read or Die? Prolly not though R.O.D. would be fitting for an English instructor...I'd have to see what the possibilities are. Otherwise, I'd prolly think about themes related to Hellsing, Samurai X/Ruruouni Kenshin, Fullmetal Alchemist, Peacemaker Kurogane or Samurai Champloo...not sure.

SAWWWEEETTT! If you haven't checked out Cowboy Beebop or Afro Samurai, those should be your next series.

Hellsing Kicks A$$!! I wish they would make some new ones.

All good series...Just wondering. To go with the bike or different colors? Or is it whatever hits the creative gong? You'll know it when you see it!

I'd like whatever I get to at least not clash with Mogee, but orange can be tough to accessorize. It would seem Naruto would be the best choice, and while I do enjoy the series, I'm not into it enough to warrant a Naruto themed helmet.
