636 trans rebuild progress

About a year ago, my trans was slipping out of second into neutral(18k miles)
(Common 05-06 636 problem)
Well I finally split the crankcase, wasn't nearly as hard as I thought.
Gonna have to replace the worn parts (maybe get some undercutting done, not sure)
Getting it back together is another story

Hopefully, I can get this done soon cause track season is coming up!
I don't wanna ride the 10R at the track this season.
If anything I'll bring it along as a backup.
I'll probably be much faster when I get back on the 636
Damnit I miss this bike, its been since March08 that I rode her
Don't tell my 10R

Interesting, and I'm assuming you had to replace some forks and the drum correct?

, well I'm hopeful. I've heard of a few who have a few thousand miles on the rebuild with no problems. Did you get the gears undercut locally? Or send them off?

After a few trackdays, or maybe even after this whole next season on the 636, I may move on to a newer model 6R, who knows? I'm not interested in racing, so really I just need a reliable bike.

HA! So it was your fault!!

Kinda a die hard, but whatever proves itself to be the best and most reliable, I'll get it for the track.

Are you saying that it slightly bends as you shift, or permanently bends b/c its hollow and weak?

The one on the right kinda looks bent, but hard to tell
