i have been thinking about this question for a long time but i cant decide....

in one respect i want the 06 kawa 10r,or 05-06 gsxr1000

but on the other hand i really like the new r6 and 675 and think they would both make bad track bikes but the r6 i think is better suited.

and im really really likeing the 04-06 fjr1300 since i like to go on long rides i think this will most limely be my next bike.

I would also like to turn the gsxr750 into a track only bike. and get the fjr and im pretty sure thats what im going to do.then maybe after iv wrecked a few good times at the track turn the 750 intoa parking lot stunt bike and get a 06-07 r6 as a track bike.

If i could do that i would be the happiest man in the world.....

Triumph's Daytona 675 looks sick and I want it bad but I know I can't afford it just now. And by the time I can there will probably be a Daytona 1050 in 07 or 08 since they just discontinued the 955. I do love my Triumphs!!!

Money no object????.....I would take the 675, speed triple, Rocket 3, Iron Horse chopper, zx10r, Warrior, r1, cbr 1k, busa oh and an 18 wheeler to transport them!!!

Maybe a zx-14 or a busa, unless suzuki comes out with the bike with the super charged busa motor that was being rumored a while back!!!!!!!!!

But I'll settle for an SV650 naked. I just finished one for a friend and I really like how it turned out.
What I'd really like to find is a clean CB400F '76 - '77 model. My first bike and my first racebike.

Patrick
I would love to find a clean 70's model CB as well.

not to offend somebody, and a lil off topic... but i hv never liked naked sporty bikes. to me, they r like eunechs, neither here, nor there.

cruisers/tourers r macho, manly, strong, muscular looking, with a clear product ideology:"dont mess with me". its like riding a horse, for eg., feel like Alexander would have felt, riding his horse Bucephalus maybe!

sport bikes r like sexy , fast, mean looking.. all dressed up pretty.. with again a clear product ideology:" i m wat u hv always desired!!" its like having that HAWT blondie (gentlemen prefer blondes u c :icon_bigg ) by ur side that u love to show off to the world and u can do stupid things with !

now, naked sporty bikes, or even the wrapped up cruisers( like goldwing)...to me they r like... a woman with bulging muscles.. or a man with tons of makeup, dressed in pinks....

once again, apologies if somebody is offended by my choice of words, but intention is to hear the views of those who have, or want to have nakeds...

No offense Kalkat. I'll try to explain.
My attraction to "naked" bikes stems back from what I started riding.
We didn't have "plastic fantastic" sportbikes in the '70s early '80s.
Your choice was either a cruiser bike or a standard. We used to refer to them as the UJM, or Universal Japanese Motorcycle.
We in turn took the standards and turned them into "cafe racers".

When Kawi first came out with the Z1R and later the GPZ550, they were truly the first mass produced "sportbike", and all they came with was a little bikini fairing. If it wasn't for the success of those bikes and others like them, there wouldn't be any GSXRs, R6 - R1, CBRs. ZX's, etc today.
My main attraction to the naked bike though, other than a certain amount of "nostalgia", is their versatility.

I can do 500 mile days without feeling like a pretzel, yet can corner with the best pure sportbikes out there at anything just below a race speed.
My insurance is cheaper, my bikes are not on the top 10 stolen list, and I don't see 10 million other squids on the same bike I have.

I can see and appreciate the motor because it's visible, and my wife can ride on the back for more than an hour because she's not perched 10' feet higher than me, on a piece of upholstered plastic, trying to impersonate a seat.
Service access is easier and a parking lot tip over might cost me a mirror at worst.

Last but not least there's nothing like the feeling of being on an SV650 or Bandit 1200 and having the the guy behind you on his R1/GSXR/CBR/ZX not be able to keep up with you in the corners.

Don't get me wrong. I really love todays sportbikes, both how they look and what they are capable of performance-wise. However IMO they are becoming more and more sharply focused and are losing some of the attributes that make up a good streetbike.
But that's just my opinion, thank we all don't like the same thing, otherwise we'd all be riding blue R6's or black Fatboys! :laughing6

I think I know the one you speak of. He's already unknowingly agreed to call me first if he ever decides to sell it though.
