Talking To supermoto or not to supermoto?

Ok so as alot of you know, my bike got jacked by some low-lifes about 3 weeks ago.. I grew up racing motocross and my first street bike was the Yamaha WR250x supermoto bike.. I loved that bike and it was an amazing wheelie/ stoppie machine. BUT when riding with my buddies with their crotch rockets, i was always at the back of the pack on the highways. Just felt alittle under powered past 3rd gear..

For my next bike, i'm considering:

-another CBR600
-another manufacturer built supermoto but bigger than the wr250x
-crf250 or crf450 then spend the money to convert to street legal supermoto

any of these bikes i would buy used and i would be stunting ( to the best of my ability) I've put alot of thought into all of my options..

My question for you is what would YOU pick and why?

crf450X model tarded out FTW. at least that's what I am wanting to do with some marchesini's and big brembos.

i had to untard my 426 because on the street i would be too likely to goto jail and it lacked electric start and left me kicking and push starting on more than one occasion.

I love my Drz! I actually got rid of a RC51 for it... and have NO regrets whatsoever...

stock it does every bit of 90-95mph... but I've bumped the sprocket 11 in the back so now it only does about 70 at best...

stoppie machine! wheelie machine! and great fuel mileage (when you want)

and there is actually about 5 guys on the board that have one

Get a new one with a warranty.
Sounds like what your looking for.

sport bikes are definetly faster than any supermoto in most situations, but should you be doing 100+ on the streets anyways?

i know alot a people with the drz's, i would have to ride one before buying one.. i would really like a yamaha wr450x.. but they don't make one..yet..

i just want a bit more power than what my wr250x had.. i only wiegh about 155 and it was almost impossible to clutch up a 3rd gear wheelie and ride it..i didn't feel like dumping alot of dinero to make it feel like a real 250f..on my old honda crf250, i could easily pop up and ride a wheelie in top gear then you get used to that and ride a wr250x you get dissapointed

If it were me, I could see me sporting a DRZ400SM.
Their is a guy down the street with one. We were both on the road at the same time, and I couldn't belive how well that thing was cornering with me on my gixxer. Not that I am bad a$$ or anything, but he got real low with his foot hanging out the side like the SuMo racers.
It was cool! I been thinking real hard since then...

wow, that's impressive.. i didn't think it could pull that off with stock gearing especially.

i do wish it was Fuel injected though.. not that it would make a huge difference or anything.

the carb setup never gives anybody problems with aggresive street riding or wheelies?

yeah, I kind of wish it was fuel injected too.... but it just makes it easier to work on down the road (rejetting, etc)...

yeah, in 5th gear at about 60 I could bouce/clutch... (wasn't the easiest thing to do... couldn't do it the first time but once i got the timing of the bounce it would come up)
I know Klassik (sp) could do the same on his 09

as soon as I slow down long enough, EBR is going to redo my whole suspension for me (maybe $300) with heavy duty springs and stiffeners etc

I doubt I will change the pipe but I have had my eye on the billet end cap that removes the baffle and spark arrester to open it up a little and give it more sound ($50)
