to be fair, a lot of the homeless are legitimately insane, but also a lot are lazy hardcore drug users.

yikes. thats a little harsh. but all in all, im going to go " em" as well. but actually its not the homeless that bother me, its the bums. the ones always asking for money...everyday...day in and day out. they make this their living. sorry, but standing on the corner with a sign and a cup is not a job, and does not warrant you an income.
worse yet is the ones that get mad if you tell them no, or accuse you of lying about having any change for them...wtf?!?!i'll occasionally help someone out or go out of my way but....oops...im ranting, lol..nm

the homeless have the option of living in shelters and getting food, etc., but would rather live on the street in a pile of garabge. that alone seems to dictate insanity to me. on top of that cutbacks for mental illness treatment facilities, HUD, etc exacerbate the situation. and dotcom, weren't you the one that wanted a group ride to the astrodome to help the folks from New Orleans, and now you want to murder them? lol

actually...
i do consider it a job.

that's what they do to get paid... if you don't like it, don't pay em.

oh no! Dotty got called out!

I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who don't want to help themselves. That applies to everyone, not just the homeless.

A couple of older fat ladies used to stand on the corner in front of a fast food joint (can't remember which one it is) on Bay Area Blvd. in front of the mall with a sign that said need money to feed kids. If they were really homeless they wouldn't look like they just ate their kids and why are the kids not with them if they have no home to go to. Why couldn't they just apply for a job at the restaurant to pay for the food. It's not like they would ever be late and if they were the manager could just go outside and tell them to get to work. Lazy .

I work downtown and houston has the fattest homeless population that I've ever seen. Kinda hard to miss a meal when every church and community group travels to the pierce elevated to feed them every day of the week.
