Isn't the R6S the same old bike they have been making since 2002?

True, my FZ6 indicates 147 but on the GPS it is actually only 143.

he isnt talking about the 06+ R6.. he is talking about the R6S . which is the same as the 03 R6, they are a bit slower than the new R6's..

even the 2005R6 has slightly larger throttle bodies than the 09 R6S

but anyways, if you dont know how fast your bike can go yet, you probably shouldnt be racing a 350z. be safe out there

That answers your question right there. If in doubt, don't do it. The results of a mistake on a bike are usually a lot worse than in a car.

Why don't you put off that idea for a while and learn how to ride first? In this country rider education is close to non existent so you have to rely on others to teach you and learn through experience. Riding a bike is much more than just going fast in a straight line. Every monkey can do that. Learn how to survive on the streets (hint: racing doesn't contribute to that ) and if you want to go really fast in a safe environment do a track day with one of the many orgs and get hooked. Many never returned to the street after that because is so much more fun and that maybe even saved their lives (me included).

Is it this same idiot thats on trial for manslaughter?
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...n/6237077.html

Its not hard to beat a car straight line for a bit with a bike...

regardless if youre trying to race a car think of the consequences of hitting a pillar or even a curb at 172mph.
