The good thing about the Gixxers is that they have that lame-azz switch on the bars that can cut some of the output for less experienced riders.

tell him to get a too-fiddy, then.

I'd vote RR of the two, though. I'd prefer a R6 for myself.

How's that for help?

I am 5'8" and used to have an 06 CBR600RR currently I have an 07 R6 though.

Nowadays I only ride at the track and prefer the R6 over the CBR. But, if he is going to use it for street riding I would not advise him to get the R6. Maybe I just have short legs but I could reach the floor better on the CBR.
At the end of the day they are both excellent machines and either choice will be a good one.

You got a gixxer why wouldn't you want to do your brother right? Personally I had an 2004 R6 and that was my dream bike for a while. Now I got a gsx-r 600 and I love it so much more. But I can't hate on those 08 600rr's. They are tight as ****.

i've ridden my zx6r, 2cbr600rr's, & a gsxr600 all 07+

by far my favorite is the cbr.
but it's fun to beat 'em with the zixxer.
