Talking Bike recovered!

Here's my post from last year: http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=56921

Thanks to anyone who kept an eye out for my bike or sent me a PM about it, etc... I really appreciate those who called with sightings etc, since it's not exactly a common bike to see.

Today HPD called me and informed me that while investigating another stolen vehicle, they recovered my bike from the individuals property. It had the ignition broken and was missing the plastics. It also had been dropped on its right side when they tossed it into the truck it was stolen in, and had a broken tail-light and possibly busted up handlebar. They found my plastics on his property, which is cool, and they have them with the bike now. They also asked me if I would testify in court if it came down to it, and I said yes.

Eight months after losing it... I never ever expected to get this call. I had just chalked it up to a loss. I still would go outside and look at the place I parked it in and would just get depressed. I would see guys riding past me on the freeway and feel so frustrated.

Now, at least I get something to work on for a little bit, and eventually ride again.

Here's a picture taken right before it was stolen...

Picture006 1

The sucky part is that I'm going to have to pay to get it out of the tow lot, and I'm broke as until pay day. Not to mention that with my girlfriend out of work, I'm generally broke as . I bet it will be like $150 just to get it back. Anyone have 650r parts for cheap?

Also, I think it is awesome that the BOTM is a Ninja 650r! How rad.

Thanks a lot. It feels great.

On a funny note, I stayed home sick from work today, and it was one of my employees who took the call originally at my office. They called me and told me someone found my bike and to call this number to reach them.

I thought it was a practical joke at first, honestly. And I told them if they were kidding I would actually fire them. LOL. I would have done it too!

My insurance had lapsed the week before it was stolen. The day it was stolen was a Sunday, and I had an appointment with Geicko on Monday to get it insured since it's my day off.

The funny part is that I had considered storing it at my work but decided against it because I had picked up a nail earlier in the week in the center of my rear tire and didn't want to ride on the freeway with it. In our work parking garage we have a locked cage that's right next to the security office which is manned 24/7. It was really the perfect storm of bad luck that caused the theft and the heartbreak after it.

Keep your insured ALL the time guys, or else something like this will happen heh.

Collect parts. There are plenty of people here that would be willing to help put things back together.....for beer, of course!

How much beer would I have to drop off for a custom paint job too?

Seriously though, it is going to suck getting it back together. I sold all of my gear and my pit bull stand A WEEK ago for $200.

Now I feel extremely ****ing stupid. I was just trying to make some other biker have a good day getting a good deal and covering some extra bills since my GF isn't working. Now I am kicking myself.

I'm in SW Houston and I work in the Montrose area, but I head up to the Northside a bit.

I'll be heading up there to get my bike for sure, since it's at Sun's Wrecker on Chippewa.

Why do you ask?

Sorry, and I was gonna say I have extra gear which I do use(ya ok its sad but I rotate jackets depending on how Im feeling that night; whatever shush up... lol)

So when you get it and wanna hit the road, I'd rather you borrow something and be safe vs ride without gear for even a week. I'd just prefer to let honest people borrow my gear so if I have to hunt you down some day, please dont ask lol

, congrats man. I can't imagine if someone stole my bike. I got disk lock, Griplock and cable on my back tire. I'm sure if someone wants it enough it'll be gone.

You still got your gear? What size are you? I got a lightly used black mesh jacket (not a big name brand) that I'd be willing to let go of REAL cheap if you fit sz small.
