Attn: LADY RACERS

Femmoto Women’s Track Day Founder Announces New Direction in 2009
The U.S. Women’s Cup Series Championship
FEMMOTO 2009
Women's Road Racing Series Final
Place: Barber Motorsports Park
When: October 3rd & 4th
Series Details Below

Femmoto Founder Bonnie Strawser announced today the sponsorship of the 2009 “U.S. Women’s Road Racing Series Championship” in partnership with Michelin Tire Corporation, Championship Cup Series (CCS) and Western Eastern Roadracing Association (WERA) West.

CCS will offer a women’s class at all 63 CCS events, while WERA West will offer the same at eight events. In addition to serving as the sponsor, Michelin will offer contingency for the top five finishers at all 71 events. Specific details of the Michelin contingency program may be found by >>>clicking here<<<.

This is a big step for women’s road racing in the United States. Michelin, CCS and WERA share our vision. They realize the tremendous growth potential for women and motorcycle racing. For years, our male counterparts have enjoyed contingency awards from a long list of sponsors. Now female competitors will have more opportunities to elevate their riding skills and earn contingency.” explained Strawser.

In 2001, the first Femmoto event was promoted as a women’s motorcycle track day and quickly evolved into much more. Over the past seven years, Femmoto event organizers have introduced hundreds of women to their first track riding experience.

Femmoto is in the unique position to encourage and support women who want to elevate their track day riding or amateur racing skills to the next level. We also want to help the U.S. motorcycle manufacturers reach out to this important and dedicated group of female motorcycle riders.” said Femmoto Co-Founder Monte Lutz.

During 2009, Femmoto will continue to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer. Since the inception of Femmoto, more than $53,000 has been raised to benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation “Race for the Cure.”

Nope never road raced. My brother and I did race dirt track when I was younger. I had every intention a doing a couple races this year. I have my bike fully race prepped. But seeing as I only have about 70% use of my right arm makes racing a little difficult.. :/
