Race Numbers

Where do you guys get your numbers from? I don't have a number yet, aka they haven't issued me one yet but I want to have them at the track when they do.

Per the rules you need 8" for the front and 6" for the back. Motorcycles Unlimited? Or is there another source perhaps in Austin where I live?

The rules state 6" black block numbers.

I do not see anything about having 8" in front and 6" on the side, only that numbers must be 6" tall. Vertical in the front, 1" number plate surround, and 3/4" spacing between numbers.

Yeah I am set to actually get a number, but I am looking for the stickers that you put on your plates? I have not seen them anywhere...

i'm sure that you can get them at just about any bike shop around. cycle gear carries them and most of MY local bike dealers/shops sell different size numbers. don't forget that you MUST have your competition number on your helmet as well.

i picked up my numbers saturday at traders village for my helmets. i went with 2" tall and 4" long.

Get some made, or swing by Hobby Lobby or another craft shop and pick up the 6" numbers that they have there.

Having some made will be the best bet on them lasting long, but the craft stores should have something that will get you by.

I also think the CMRA sells them at their races if needed as well. The doesn't account for the number plates made from yellow duct tape and black electrical tape either.

You are right, I just read the darn thing again... where did I get 8" in the front from...

Well ok so I need 6" numbers, where do you get them from? Hardware Store I guess?

I did the same, I think mine came out to 2" by 3.5" or so with black numbers and a yellow plate similar to the example Tom posted from the Wera and CMRA board.

A good, local place to get vinyl number plate background material is at a sign shop like Fast Signs or some place like that. You can usually buy two or three running feet of the stuff (you're gonna need yellow) for cheap.
James bought numbers for his helmet, as we are required to display our competition numbers on the helmet this year.
