If she wanted to do what was right (even now) she would try to return the bike (cops or whatever) and go after the guy that sold it to her to get her $$ back.

don't get me wrong, I think this is all very fishy and we are missing some key details.
I still don't know what I would do....I assume I do not surround myself with people like this so if it was out of nowhere I found out the man I loved was doing something so crazy I would be lost....first by not knowing him as well as I though and 2nd by not knowing what to do then.
you right, i dont think we have a the details

but no she didnt steal it

but buying it stolen, and knowing it is stolen, is just as bad as stealing it

this is 100% true... I bought my 50 though a police auction and the neck was damaged...

but i do know with 'streetable' bikes, it would be hard to get them registered and license again...

also, when insurance totals a bike that is owned by a dealership (not that this is relevant to the story)... they make the dealership cut the neck of the frame off and send it to them... then they RESTAMP THE NEW FRAME... i can honestly say, i have seen some service techs in the past that were horrible at stamping the numbers on the new frame... as a buyer I would have questioned the legality of a new bike with a 'not so straight' vin...

so...

I agree... I would like to have more details from both sides before I make an assumption to who is at fault

I know it would be hard to knowingly call the cops on anyone I loved unless of course they killed someone. That would be my breaking point b/c I wouldn't want anyone else to be physically hurt by them.

and its hard for me to believe that most of you haven't done something illegal where your SO didn't call the cops on you....speeding or drugs anyone?
Never done drugs. I have been caught speeding. Got a ticket and paid my fine.
I stole some gum when I was a kid and you bet your bottom my mom marched me right back to that store and I had to confess and return the gum. My mama raised me right.

let love fly? burn the bike? wow dood, you are a pretty individual. I hope that I, nor any of my friends, ever do any kind of business with you at all. burn the bike? seriously? it should be turned in (if infact it was stolen) and then the cops can find original owner. too beautiful of a machine to just burn the thing.
and the let love fly part? if i was in love with someone and found out they knowingly had a stolen bike, that would make me question the person I loved. I would re-evaluate the person and probably turn them in for being a person. I can understand not wanting to turn them in, and can see why he took the thing apart. I think it is fcukin HILARIOUS that he dismantled the entire bike. That chit is funny!!!! But, all in all, if he had time to take the bike apart, he had time to load it on a trailer and drop it off at the police station
